Downloaded files wont open in unity
Can you open Mono by itself? Probably Mono hanging not related to Unity. Run the mono shortcut in that folder. Does it run ok? Very annoying. Here's a few techniques I've used to get around the issue: Close MonoDevelop and try again. I tried deleting another lockfile and that project also opened.
After the second project opened I tried the other projects and they all opened without having to deal with the lockfile. It may be the case that removing the correct lockfile will resolve the issue. I have also seen a lot of posts that state opening from an open project resolves the issue. If you can find a project that opens, open it and then open the locked project. If none of these options work then you can also send a report to Unity support.
You have to include the affected project and it takes a while to send but may be worth it for a solution from Unity. Unity does not play well with VPN's on window machines! Specifically NordVPN, if you're connected to a VPN service through their official app it crashes on project open with no error code and a confusing crash log.

I'm trying to open an asset in the Unity Editor from within my Firefox browser. When I click on Open in Unity from the Asset Store, a prompt opens and asks me what I want to use to open the link with.
I click on the Unity Editor and nothing happens. Presumably I have pointed to the wrong Unity Editor. I had originally installed Unity before Unity Hub was a thing, and have since downloaded Unity Hub and several different Unity versions.
